As the Jackson Hole Community Housing Trust geared up to break ground on our 9th project at 174 North King Street, COVID-19 became a reality. The Community Housing Trust was faced with a decision to push pause or push forward with the development of 24 affordable homes.

The decision didn’t come overnight, but in time, the answer was obvious. Housing insecurity is an ongoing issue that continues to overwhelm so many of our friends and neighbors and because of that, we must push forward.

With this project, the Community Housing Trust hopes to contribute to a positive vision of recovery and make meaningful progress on a problem that affects every sector of our community. 174 North King Street is a partnership with the Town of Jackson, who contributed the land and $1.25M.

The Community Housing Trust will leverage the contribution of the Town with private philanthropy to ensure the affordability of all 24 homes—homes that will provide stability for individuals, couples, and families. We look forward to keeping you apprised of our progress in the months to come.

Why This Project?

Jackson Hole is more than a bucket list vacation destination. Jackson is a vibrant place united by a passion for wildlife, wetlands, and a strong sense of community. Our quality of life cannot be sustained unless we provide local, affordable housing opportunities for the people who care for our families and provide essential services. 174 North King Street is a meaningful opportunity to invest in our community at a time when it’s needed most.

Today in Teton County

  • The median price of a home is estimated at $1.2M, while the median household income for a working family of four is $132,840
  • Major employers are struggling to retain and recruit much needed staff due to the high cost of living locally
  • 45% of our workforce commute into Jackson every day
  • Lack of affordable housing continues to be one of our ongoing challenges

The Community Housing Trust is committed to serving Teton County by getting affordable homes in the ground – on time and on budget. Each project means that together, we are taking the requisite steps to preserve our sense of community, reduce commuter traffic and protect our natural resources. Homeowner Information

 

The Housing Trust has kicked off the applicant selection process for 24 affordable homes at 174 North King Street. If you have been notified of your selection via email from our Program Manager, Jennifer Scott, please download the Homeowner Packet (below) or click on the renderings in the photo gallery to help inform your unit choice.

Please note, the (18) 1 bedroom homes vary slightly in square footage from 680 sq. ft. – 780 sq. ft.

  • 12 1 bedroom = 680 sq. ft.
  • 2 1 bedrooms = 700 sq. ft.
  • 2 1 bedrooms = 720 sq. ft.
  • 2 1 bedrooms = 780 sq. ft.

Both two bedroom homes are both 990 sq. ft., while the (4) three bedroom condos are 1,125 sq. ft. All condos are located on the 2nd and 3rd floors on the building.
