Schwabacher Meadows

Schwabacher Meadows

Completed: 2015
11 homes
Serving 34 people
Project Team: Gilday Architects, GE Johnson, Nelson Engineering

The homes at Schwabacher Meadows result from a unique partnership between the Community Housing Trust and the Teton County School District. The 11 homes located in Wilson were built on land donated to the School District by Albert and May Schwabacher in 1969. This generous gift of land made the project possible. To develop the homes, however, the Community Housing Trust and the School District created a new model for a public and private partnership that leverages the financial and development expertise of the Community Housing Trust to meet a critical need of the School District.

COVID-19 has forced my wife Kristen and me to make extreme adjustments in our daily life. The fact that we don’t have to be concerned about our housing situation is something that comes to my mind often. Our home has provided us comfort and given us a space to effectively continue our work outside of the office and classroom.
